INVEST IN HUMAN CAPITAL - EUROPE'S GREATEST ASSET

English translation of conference programme French translation of conference programme German translation of conference programme Italian translation of conference programme Spanish translation of conference programme

In difficult economic conditions, it is important for organisations of all kinds to focus on their people. Growth does not happen everywhere at the same pace, and although the private sector may be turning the corner, it is now the public sector which is the focus of attention, as cutbacks threaten the still shaky improvements across Europe.

As a result, unemployment levels are forecast to get worse before they get better. On a positive note, this recession has been notable for the wide range of positive initiatives aimed at keeping people in work, whether through reduced working time or flexible working arrangements.

Employment Week 2010 will provide a forum for organisations across all member states, and beyond, to demonstrate the initiatives and projects they are running to improve employment conditions in their region. The conference will focus on some of the key drivers for recovery; presentations from speakers from the Commission, from a range of NGOs, corporates and other bodies will open up the debate on these crucial issues.

The programme is almost complete now and you may read the French, German, Spanish and Italian translations by clicking on the flags above.

Please note: in November, the conference will be interpreted into English, French and German only.
