The 15th edition of Employment Week is being hailed as a huge success.
Over 700 employment stakeholders around Europe and beyond gathered in Brussels on 11-12 June to exchange views and hear what European officials, notable public figures, trade unions, NGOs, business leaders and other experts are saying about today's employment trends, challenges and opportunities in the EU.
The Employment Week 2008 debates, surrounding the theme “Adapting to Change, Making Europe a Prosperous Labour Market”, focused on how Europe's businesses and economies are coping within the context of globalisation and demographic change. These two components are putting an increasing pressure on Europe’s labour markets and adapting to change is now essential to ensure growth and competitiveness.
Employment Week looked at how these demands impact on companies and the workforce alike and the programme was designed to enable participants to gain a clear insight into today’s priorities in the European agenda.
The success of Employment Week stemmed from the mix of activities presented at the event which created an exciting environment for knowledge sharing and outstanding opportunities for networking and lively discussion.
